Small Business Associate Underwriter Job Summary

Location: Anywhere within Westfield's operating territory.

 

Desired Qualifications/Experience/Certification/Education (in order of importance)

 

1. Successful completion of the Westfield Graduate Development program or 3 years of property and casualty insurance experience. 
2. Experience maintaining a high degree of customer service focus and professionalism.
3. Delivers messages in a clear, compelling, and concise manner; articulates messages in a way that is broadly understandable; adjusts communication content and style to meet need of diverse audience; actively listens and checks for understanding. 
4. Ability to tactfully and persuasively handle conflict.
5. Experience analyzing problems and developing strategies for resolution.
6. Experience working in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing and completing work efficiently and effectively. 

 

Physical Requirements (specific to the role)

• Ability to work effectively in an office environment for 40+ hours per week (including sitting, standing and working on a computer for extended periods of time).
• Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as:  telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.
• Ability to travel as required.
