Hostess Job Summary
- $9.63 an hour
- Must have availability to work between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. including weekends and some holidays.
The Host/Hostess, as directed, is responsible for greeting the guests and welcoming them to the Firemark Grille located at Westfield Country Club. Various duties include welcoming the guests upon arrival, seating the guests, answering the phone, taking reservations, assisting the service staff when necessary, and maintaining a clean, safe working environment.
Essential Functions (primary functions and/or reasons the job exists in order of importance)
1. Greets guests upon arrival with a smile and warm welcome.
2. Escorts guests to their table and presents clean menus in a friendly and professional manner.
3. Answers the telephone with an energetic attitude and having the knowledge to answer any inquires the guest may have.
4. Treats all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always striving to exceed guests’ expectations.
5. Utilizes and is familiar with a floor plan and seating chart.
6. Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty, and occupied table
7. Complies with all OSHA and Westfield safety/training/certification standards within required timeframes.
8. Reliably reports to work on time and completes shifts, as scheduled.
9. Consistently has a clean, neat appearance and follows Westfield’s Universal Standards.
10. May travel between Westfield on campus locations as needed.
Desired Qualifications/Experience/Certification/Education (in order of importance)
1. Excellent customer service skills.
2. Ability to effectively communicate and receive instructions from leader, co-workers, and guests both verbally and in writing.
3. Ability to multi-task and prioritizing work.
4. Strong organizational skills.
5. Valid driver’s license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.
Physical Requirements (specific to the role)

* Ability to remain on feet, standing and walking for extended periods of time throughout the workday.
* Ability to maintain movement, bend, reach, lift and carry 40lbs
* Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as: telephone, computer, web, voice, e-mail, etc.
* Ability to work a flexible schedule of days, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
* Ability to travel as required.
